Frequently asked questions.

What is the cost per session?

Sessions are $135 per 50 minute session. I do not take insurance at this time. Olive & Honey is a self-pay telehealth practice. I accept all major credit cards and payments happen online via the Simple Practice Patient Portal. Payment is due after each session is complete, with a three day built-in grace period. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy in place, if your appointment is not cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours you are subject to being charged the full $135 fee. The $135 fee remains the same if the client is late to the session or needs to leave early. Your session fee will be prorated if the session is started late or cut short due to the therapist. I will always do my best to give as much warning as possible if I am unable to keep our scheduled appointment. I ask that you respect my time and I promise to respect yours.

How long does therapy take?

Everyone is different and the number of sessions depends on each client. Most clients see me once a week until they feel ready to decrease sessions to once every other week. Some clients see me for 8 weeks and some for much longer. Together, you and I will determine the length and frequency of your sessions. I am happy to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of your life while maintaining the integrity of your therapeutic work.

Is telehealth safe from a privacy standpoint?

Yes, when done correctly. I use HIPPA complaint platforms for video conferencing, client portals, scheduling, Electronic Medical Records, email, phone, and texting. Before sessions begin you will be asked to read, review, and sign forms that break down the rules and guidelines of privacy as it relates to telehealth.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

Just like all relationships, the therapeutic relationship is not one size fits all! As we get to know each other we will work to establish if we are a good therapeutic fit for one another. Referrals to an alternative therapist may be made at any point in our therapeutic relationship if you or I believe that you would benefit from working with someone different. I will provide you with a referral list if you or I decide that you would benefit from seeing an alternative therapist. I personally and professionally respect all races, gender identities, sexual orientations, and religions. I believe that kindness towards one another could radically alter the success of our world and prefer to work with clients who share that belief.
